Monochromes: The Introverts
The images in this ongoing collection were captured in color and converted to monochrome for output. As compared to their extroverted color siblings, these monochromes are the subtle introverts. This conversion occurs for different reasons, but generally, to best reveal the subject the monochrome speaks through the combination of light, shadow, and composition, rather than relying upon the vivid expression that color provides. While the colors in nature may have spoken loudly and garnered the initial attention at the time of capture, it is the more subtle elements that seek to be noticed and more fully express themselves and the subject-matter through the monochromatic tones.
Unless indicated otherwise, all images in this project are Limited Edition prints.
